Au coeur de Walter is a cooperative video game developed as part of a participatory creative workshop involving young designers. The game offers a space-time exploration across four planets, where players collaborate to collect musical fragments and gradually reconstruct a shared soundtrack. By combining music-centered gameplay mechanics, pixel art design, and a collaborative approach, the project highlights video games as a medium for artistic expression, collective creation, and cultural mediation.
History
Au coeur de Walter is a collaborative game project in development, created by Play Don’t Tell in partnership with La Cité Bleue and Païdos. The game was born from a series of creative workshops conducted with young participants between September 2025 and January 2026, during which they contributed to the game’s design, music, visual elements, and narrative, guided by fundamental game design principles. The development emphasizes cooperative gameplay, where players work together to find musical fragments across levels with emotional themes. Although the game is already playable in its current form, the project continues to evolve with the addition of new features and adjustments, and the team regularly shares updates while actively involving its community.

Play Don't Tell is a video game studio based in Geneva that focuses on two areas of creation. The first area is mediation games, which aims to create cultural, social, or artistic mediation games in close partnership with foundations, associations, and other non-profit organizations. Play Don't Tell's second area of creation is entertainment games, aimed at an international audience.The studio was founded by two techno-educational designers: Kenneth Rioja, deeply involved in Learning Analytics, programming, UX Research and educational technologies; and Ivan Voirol, passionate about designing video games and board games.
